What are Harmony™ Metals?
Harmony™ Metals are a recycled and eco-friendly line of precious metals from the supplier Hoover and Strong. This ensures that no NEW mining was done to create the milling products used in any Rockin’ Tots jewelry. We do, however, recognize that there is an inherent amount of ecological impact on the refining process needed to recycle these precious metals, but that impact is considerably less on both the environment and the individuals working in this process. For more information about Harmony™ Metal, visit Hoover and Strong.
What are Canadamark™ diamonds?
Canadamark™ diamonds are diamonds mined, cut, and polished in a completely transparent supply chain - meaning each diamond can be traced from its mine in the Northwest Territories of Canada to its finished polished state. Unlike other diamonds which only adhere to the Kimberly Process and address one small step in the supply chain, Canadamark™ diamonds go above and beyond, following the stone every step the way to ensure a truly “conflict-free” diamond is created.
"Your diamond comes from the Ekati, Diavik, and Gahcho Kué mines in Canada’s pristine North, about 200 kilometres south of the Arctic circle. With preferential hiring practices and training programs for northern residents, indigenous-led wildlife monitoring programs, and industry-leading water recycling and composting systems, these mines are at the forefront of community engagement, environmental stewardship and waste management practices." - Canadamark™

How do I clean my jewelry?
Below is a recipe for a great chemical-free jewelry cleaner - have the kids help and learn a little science in the process!
Silver Cleaner Ingredients
Glass or pyrex pan
1. Line the bottom of the pan with a sheet of aluminum foil, shiny side up.
2. Fill the foil-lined pan with steaming hot water.
3. Place the jewelry in the pan using a slotted spoon or tongs, taking care to not burn yourself. Try to spread the jewelry out so that it is not touching another piece and optimize the contact with the foil.
4. Add baking soda (approx. 2 tsp) and salt (approx. 1 tsp) to the hot water. This amount works for smaller pans, but no need to be too exact - don’t be afraid to eyeball it. You'll be able to watch the tarnish disappear as the oxides bind to the aluminum foil. You may need to leave more heavily tarnished items in for as long as 5 minutes, but otherwise remove the jewelry when it appears clean.
5. Rinse the jewelry with clean water and gently buff with a soft towel.
DO NOT USE THIS PROCESS ON ITEMS WITH PEARLS, OPALS, OR EMERALDS. THE HOT WATER WILL DAMAGE THESE STONES.
Are necklaces for kids a chocking hazard?
We don’t recommend Rockin’ Tots jewelry for children under 3, but this is a case of “parents know best.” Every child has unique sensory experience - some are more tactile than others and may be prone to fidget, play with, or put the jewelry in their mouth. If that is the case, it may be better to wait a bit. But rest assured that should our jewelry end up in their mouth, there are no hidden chemicals being ingested by your child at the same time.
What length cord should I purchase?
The 16” cord is appropriate for most kids and tweens, but kids grow at different rates so as a rule of thumb, anyone over 5 feet tall usually can go for the 18” choices
How do I size my tot for rings?
Ring sizes are not an exact science, that being said, a piece of string can usually do the trick. Use a piece of floss or thin yarn to wrap around your child’s finger (firmly, but not tightly or with too much slack). Next, measure the length of string against a ruler. Use this link to determine your child’s ring size (remember you are measuring the CIRCUMFERENCE not the DIAMETER) . We recommend the middle finger on their dominant hand. It tends to be the largest finger and allows the child some wiggle room. As they grow, they can move the ring to different fingers allowing them to enjoy their piece for years.
If you order the ring and it doesn’t fit, no worries! We will exchange it for the correct size.
