We've always wanted to find ways to connect jewelry with an ethical awareness for our kids. We talk about the importance of taking care of what you own (fine jewelry that can last generations) and not treating it like a disposable accessory. We talk about what it's made of. Who made it and how.
When we created the Bee A Good Human line, we knew we wanted to expand the conversation by making a connection between the design of the jewelry with the environment. What are you wearing and what does it mean? Yes, it looks "cool", but have you thought more about it?
For example, our Honeycomb (hexagon) charm. Take this as an opportunity to ask questions like, "What is this shape called? What is honeycomb? How is it made?" For older kids, you can start to talk about bee (and other pollinator) habitats. "What activities or actions hurt them? What can we do to help them thrive?"
20% of all sales during Pollinator Week go to The Pollinator Partnership
While we continue to try and grow and become more informed ourselves, we are starting here. During Pollinator Week, 20% of all Rockin' Tots sales will do directly to the Pollinator Partnership. Their mission is to promote the health of pollinators, critical to food and ecosystems, through conservation, education, and research. Their website is packed with information and education - so please check it out. https://www.pollinator.org
We've also partnered with a few other fantastic businesses for a Pollinator Week giveaway.
